Are you looking for your next Tax Accounting opportunity and want to work in high-performing and cohesive team which offers excellent development opportunities?  Due to recent team changes, Perenti are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant, to join our Corporate Division in a permanent full time capacity.

 

As a Tax Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the team by ensuring tax compliance, whilst contributing to precise financial reporting, effective tax planning and risk mitigation. Reporting to, and working collaboratively with the Senior Specialist Tax Provisions, you will assist with lodgement of all Australian tax compliance obligations including income tax, BAS and FBT returns. Furthermore, you will assist with timely preparation of the half-year and annual tax effect accounting for the group.

 

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Aiding with the tax effect accounting for the group including half-year and annual reporting;
  • Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of the Australian income tax returns;
  • Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of Australian Business and Instalment Activity Statements;
  • Assisting with the preparation of the FBT returns;  
  • Providing maintenance of the Australian tax fixed asset register;
  • Contributing to ad-hoc tax projects across the Perenti Group;
  • Assisting with the tax budgeting and forecasting process for income tax expense and cash tax paid;
  • Assisting with the implementing of group tax procedures;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance tax compliance and process efficiencies.

 

To succeed in this role, you would bring:

  • 3 years’ of demonstrated experience working with Australian tax compliance;
  • Inhouse tax accounting exposure; ideally within a large, multinational organisation or a tier one/ tier 2 tax consultancy;
  • A degree in Commerce, Accounting, Taxation, or a relevant field;
  • Obtained or studying towards CA/CPA qualification;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and understand stakeholder needs;
  • Proven ability to work meticulously, delivering accurate and timely results.

Additional Information:

This a permanent full-time opportunity, to be based in the Perth CBD with hybrid working arrangements.

 

Note: The team experiences peak periods in January (half‑year reporting) and July (full‑year reporting), during which leave may be limited.
