Superintendent Sustainability
We are now seeking a full-time permanent Superintendent Sustainability to join our Corporate Safety and Sustainability Team at Perenti.
This role will enable you to lead and influence sustainability performance across the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Manager Sustainability, you will work closely with the Corporate Safety and Sustainability team and stakeholders across the business to shape our sustainability strategy, strengthen governance, and deliver meaningful outcomes for our people, communities, and environment.
Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Sustainability Strategy and Reporting
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies and standards.
- Develop and manage systems and processes to meet the AASB S2 climate-related disclosure requirements, including:

- Oversee the development of climate-related risks and opportunities registers, climate scenario analysis and financial impact assessments.
- Develop and maintain a group-wide climate transition plan, including decarbonisation pathways and adaptation strategies.
- Oversee data collection of scope 1, 2, and 3 emission sources.
- Prepare sustainability reports, AASB S2 climate-related disclosures and annual modern slavery reports (Australia and Canada).
- Provide guidance and training to relevant personnel for sustainability matters.
Governance and Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare materials for the Board’s Safety and Sustainability Committee and Group Executive Committee (GEC).
- Support Sustainability Steering Groups and develop information packs for meetings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver key sustainability and environmental commitments.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain human rights and modern slavery due diligence systems and deliver training.
- Conduct internal assurance over sustainability processes and metrics.
- Monitor legislative changes and identify opportunities for improvement in sustainability management.
Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include:
- Tertiary qualification in sustainability, environmental science or related discipline (postgraduate is desirable).
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated Expertise in sustainability strategy, climate-related risk management, and sustainability reporting (including AASB S2 and modern slavery).
- Strong communication and influencing skills—confident engaging with diverse and global stakeholders.
- Strong project management capability and a collaborative mindset.
- Desirable - Lead Auditor, Management Systems certification
