Site Senior Mining Consultant

Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, The purpose of this position is to provide technical and engineering solutions along with business improvement outcomes for operations across Australia and Overseas. This is a collaborative and supportive role requiring the use of technical mining best practice to deliver value for our new and existing customers. This is a Fly-In-Fly-Out role to various sites across Australia and overseas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act in the best interests of Orelogy, by working within legislation that underpins the company’s operation, as well as ensuring that decisions are based on the achievement of Orelogy's objectives.
• Ensure conduct which is consistent with Orelogy's values, policies, systems, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Ensuring a safe working environment, being a visible leader for safety, and providing a daily commitment to zero harm to employees, contractors, environment and the community.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, Perenti client representatives, employees, management and supplier contacts.
• Coach and mentor internal and external customers.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture focused on technical effectiveness and operational excellence.
• Identify, recommend, and execute business improvement opportunities to promote safe production at sites in which we work.
• Enhance inter-departmental partnerships to promote teamwork and deliver optimised results.
• Ensure all works under area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end users’ requirements.
• Advise on mine design, including drill and blast, sequence and scheduling and business improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (or the equivalent).
• First Class Mine Managers (FCMM) Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded.
• 5 years’ experience in Mine Design, Scheduling and Drill and Blast.
• Technical report writing skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of computer literacy, with advanced capabilities in specialist mining software such as such as Vulcan, Deswik, MineSight, Surpac or similar.
