Manager Project
Are you a highly proficient Project Manager, with significant experience managing complex technology projects? We now have an internal opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Corporate Technology team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Portfolio Delivery you will lead and manage delivery of IT project/s within Corporate Technology that deliver business and technology solutions, enabling Perenti Group to achieve its strategic goals, business benefits and outcomes.
This role will require close collaboration across multiple channels including, Project Sponsor, Corporate Technology resources, project resources and key stakeholders within each of the business's ISG's as required. This role will also have direct reports.
Key Accountabilities will include, though are not limited to:
- Manage the successful delivery of assigned infrastructure (compute, store and networking) and application projects from design through to handover. Achieving agreed milestones, schedule, budget and quality KPI’s.
- Lead the planning, coordination, procurement and management of the overall project including sub-contract management, risk management, and budget, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Lead assigned internal resources and co-ordinate third parties/vendors for timely delivery and execution of projects.
- Manage, maintain, and report project status and progress, ensuring effective project management standards and methods and consistently applied.
- Assess, identify, and manage project risk and opportunity, and develop mitigation strategies for pursuit throughout all project phases.
- Establish and implement strategies and milestones for the project; and monitor adherence to the project schedule.
- Influence decision making processes with business stakeholders to manage scope, issues, constraints, risks, assumptions and change control process throughout the project life cycle.
- Prepare governance reporting for the Project Board, ensuring all exceptions are highlighted for appropriate decision making.
- Ensuring good governance and risk management is applied to all delivery components to maintain audit traceability and project assurance.
- Set direction, address blockers, and manage the team ecosystem so project delivery potential is optimised.
- Manage the project team and the development and integration of project deliverables.
- Set objectives and priorities across the project resource pool, assign and review tasks, manage performance and resource requirements, all while maintaining the overall resource plan.
- Inspiring high engagement with both internal and external teams, by creating and maintaining focus, enthusiasm and momentum whilst maintaining overall integrity and coherence of the project.
- Manage the performance of external service providers in order to ensure the implementation of deliverables is optimised and delivered within agreed tolerance.
- Provide quality assurance and manage stakeholders through change, resolving conflict and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Facilitating scoping workshops to enable decisions on data and migration strategies and solution options, and decommissioning.
- Build and maintain relationships with team members and various stakeholders.
Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include:
- The successful candidate will have extensive experience (ideally 10 years plus), in successfully delivering IT infrastructure, business and enterprise application projects using PRINCE 2 (or similar) project delivery methodology. Experience in delivering HR, finance or ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Industry qualification in Project Management Methodology (PRINCE2/PMBOK/Agile).
- Ability to manage project delivery teams and successfully drive outcomes through strong leadership and attention to both quality and detail. Within a fast paced and complex environment for multiple C Level stakeholders.
- Previous experience in project management across a large complex business. Exposure to delivering IT infrastructure projects within operational or mining environments is highly desirable.
- Have a proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
- Highly honed problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective leadership and coaching skillset, with the ability to manage diverse project team members.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of people at all levels using verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
