About the Role

Are you a natural hunter with the drive to open doors, win new business and build long-term partnerships? BTP is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to help grow our Parts, Service and Equipment Rental divisions across the region.

 

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, negotiating commercial outcomes and driving profitable revenue growth. This is a hands-on role where your time will be spent in the market, building pipeline, meeting customers and turning opportunities into results.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities across mining, construction and heavy equipment sectors
  • Building trusted relationships with new and existing customers
  • Developing tailored proposals, tenders and commercial solutions
  • Managing a strong sales pipeline through Salesforce CRM or similar systems
  • Delivering against quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Monitoring competitor activity and market trends
  • Working closely with operations, finance and leadership teams to deliver customer outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate forecasts, reporting and sales activity metrics

About You

You are commercially driven, relationship-focused and thrive on the challenge of winning work in a competitive market. You know how to build trust, identify opportunity and close deals while maintaining long-term partnerships.

 

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development, sales or account management within mining, heavy equipment or related industries
  • Strong industry networks and market knowledge
  • Proven ability to generate leads, convert opportunities and exceed targets
  • Experience preparing tenders, proposals and commercial submissions
  • Ability to travel regularly to meet clients and support regional growth
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • High levels of self-motivation, resilience and professionalism
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Experience using Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms
