Maintenance Superintendent

Barminco has successfully tendered for the exciting Bellevue Gold Project located approximately 40km north-east of Leinster in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region. Operated by Bellevue Gold Limited, Bellevue is one of Australia’s highest-grade underground gold mines, achieving commercial production in 2024 and positioned for significant long-term growth.

This major underground operation combines industry-leading mining practices with a strong sustainability focus, including a hybrid renewable energy power station designed to supply more than 80% of the site’s power requirements through renewable energy sources.

About the Role

As part of this project, Barminco is seeking experienced and motivated Maintenance Superintendents to join the team on a full-time basis (8/6 FIFO roster from Perth). These roles are integral to delivering safe, productive and efficient underground mining operations at the Bellevue Gold Mine while contributing to the continued success and expansion of the Bellevue Gold Mine. 

Your role will support while Working within the mobile maintenance department, this will provide supervision, oversight and a safe working environment to the on-site maintenance team. You will ensure planned maintenance and servicing of site mobile equipment is carried out efficiently and safely using sound judgement to meet the objective of maximising production capability.

What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?

• Lead and promote a strong safety, quality, and performance culture within the maintenance department aligned with Barminco’s values and objectives.
• Provide clear leadership, communication, and direction to maintenance teams, including Foremen, Planners, and Leading Hands.
• Ensure effective incident investigations, safety leadership, and preventative actions are implemented to improve site safety performance and culture.
• Monitor equipment and maintenance performance using Barminco & Bellevue systems, implementing corrective action plans where performance targets are not met.
• Act as the site representative for all maintenance-related matters, including equipment availability, safety, people management, and cost control, while escalating issues when required.
• Support continuous improvement of maintenance management systems, reporting processes, forecasting, and professional management of maintenance data and documentation.
• Develop and support maintenance personnel through leadership, career development, collaboration with other Maintenance Superintendents, and coordination with central support teams to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and cost outcomes.

Our Ideal Candidate Background Includes

• Extensive experience working as a Maintenance superintendent within an underground mining environment and involvement with earthmoving machinery including Sandvik
• Strong credibility in a working with and influencing a front line operational workforce
• Strong understanding of capability in a safety culture and leadership concepts and practical application of risk assessment; hazard identification and controls; and incident management and investigation
• Possess Australian recognised Heavy -Duty Mechanical or Auto Electrical trade certificate
• Ability to work effectively within a team and follow mine plans and procedures
• Current and valid Australian driver’s licence
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace
