Maintenance Foreman
Barminco has successfully tendered for the exciting Bellevue Gold Project located approximately 40km north-east of Leinster in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region. Operated by Bellevue Gold Limited, Bellevue is one of Australia’s highest-grade underground gold mines, achieving commercial production in 2024 and positioned for significant long-term growth.
This major underground operation combines industry-leading mining practices with a strong sustainability focus, including a hybrid renewable energy power station designed to supply more than 80% of the site’s power requirements through renewable energy sources.
About the Role
As part of this project, Barminco is seeking experienced and motivated Maintenance Foreman to join the team on a full-time basis (8/6 FIFO roster from Perth). These roles are integral to delivering safe, productive and efficient underground mining operations at the Bellevue Gold Mine while contributing to the continued success and expansion of the Bellevue Gold Mine.
Your role provides clear direction and leadership standards across the Maintenance department though visual leadership, clear communication to crew leaders & work teams. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of maintenance management systems in line with our purpose, principles, and aspiration.
What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?
- Lead and supervise daily workshop and field maintenance activities to achieve safety, environmental, and production targets.
- Execute and oversee planned and breakdown maintenance to ensure plant and equipment reliability, availability, and cost-effective performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safe operating procedures, company standards, and statutory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety, quality, and performance culture through visible leadership, incident investigation support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Guide and provide technical guidance, coaching, training, and performance feedback to maintenance personnel to support competency development and team effectiveness.
- Manage maintenance resources including parts, consumables, and stock levels to support efficient workshop operations.
- Escalate operational or maintenance issues where required and maintain clear communication with leadership teams to support site performance outcomes.
Our Ideal Candidate Background Includes
- Extensive experience working as a Maintenance Lead or Supervisor, within an underground mining environment and involvement with earthmoving machinery
- Strong credibility in a working with and influencing a front-line operational workforce
- Possess Australian recognised Australian recognised Heavy Duty Mechanical or Auto Electrical Trade Certificate
- Strong understanding of capability in a safety culture and leadership concepts and practical application of risk assessment; hazard identification and controls; and incident management and investigation
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow mine plans and procedures
- Current and valid Australian driver’s licence
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace
