Machinist - PM Shift | Mon-Thurs | 3-Day Weekend
40-Hour Week | 4 Days On, 3 Days Off
BTP is looking for an experienced Machinist to join our Hazelmere workshop on our permanent PM Shift.
This is a full-time 40-hour week worked across four days, giving you a consistent Monday to Thursday roster and a three-day weekend every week.
Shift hours:
Monday to Thursday
3:00pm – 1:30am
Friday, Saturday & Sunday off

What You’ll Be Doing
As part of our Production team, you’ll carry out repairs to earthmoving equipment components and related products, including hydraulic cylinder components.
Your work will include:
- Operating CNC lathes
- Operating manual lathes and milling machines
- Operating CNC Vertical Machining Centres
- Working with vertical and horizontal borers
- Machining and repairing earthmoving equipment components
- Machining and repairing hydraulic cylinder components
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Completing accurate job documentation and daily timesheets
- Working closely with the wider Production team to meet workshop requirements
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and housekeeping
- Supporting and mentoring apprentices where required
The role has a strong focus on safe work practices, including pre-starts, Take 5s/JHAs, hazard identification and adherence to BTP procedures and Critical Risk Standards.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring:
- An Australian-recognised Trade Certificate
- Previous machining experience
- Experience in Caterpillar and Komatsu machine component repair and maintenance highly regarded
- Experience operating CNC and/or conventional machining equipment
- The ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings
- A strong understanding of workplace safety requirements
- The ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A strong commitment to quality workmanship
- HR Forklift Licence
- DG Licence or greater
