Lead Quality and Training
Ausdrill is seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Quality and Training professional to join our team. 12-month maternity leave cover. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR HSEQT, this is a key leadership role that combines quality assurance and workforce capability development to ensure operational excellence and compliance across our business.
About the Role
The Lead Quality and Training is responsible for the implementation and oversight of Ausdrill’s training strategy, quality assurance frameworks, and compliance systems. This role leads the training team, supports audit and continuous improvement initiatives, and promotes a high-performance culture aligned with Ausdrill’s standards, policies, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Ausdrill’s training strategy to meet operational goals, regulatory obligations, and workforce capability needs.
- Lead the training team to ensure high-quality, consistent delivery and coverage across all operational sites.
- Maintain and improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) complies with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, WHS Regulations, and company policies.
- Plan and conduct internal system and process audits.
- Maintain accurate training and quality records, audit findings, non-conformance registers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyse data from audits, feedback, and performance metrics to drive training and quality improvements.
- Act as the central point of contact for the IMS and provide support, advice, and communication to stakeholders.
- Review and report on nonconformities, customer feedback, rework data, and corrective actions.
- Encourage and oversee effective use of the document management system to support quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Foster strong collaboration with HR, HSE, operations, and other key stakeholders to address skill gaps and compliance risks.
About You:
You’re a confident communicator and systems thinker who understands the link between capability, compliance, and performance. You bring a blend of hands-on training delivery and a strong background in quality assurance or auditing, ideally within the mining or heavy industry sector.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role in training, quality assurance, or learning & development.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience conducting internal audits and working within an IMS framework.
- Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems (INX desirable).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and SharePoint (metadata experience desirable).
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
- Experience in the mining industry or similar high-risk sector is highly regarded.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable).
- Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent (desirable).
- Formal auditing qualifications or certifications (highly regarded).
