HSE Officer - Compliance
Ausdrill is currently seeking a Safety Officer – Compliance for a newly created role within the HSEQ&T team. Reporting to the Manager, HSE you will coordinate and manage activities to ensure Ausdrill adheres to safety regulations and internal policies to maintain a safe work environment. The role will also be responsible for overseeing Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems and coordination of injury management, return to work and workers compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Verify that the organization adheres to all legal requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
· Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential compliance issues and assess the effectiveness of assurance programs.
· Provide training and guidance to employees on safety and compliance regulations, policies, and procedures. ·
· Prepare and submit reports on compliance activities, incidents, and investigations to relevant stakeholders, including management and external authorities. ·
· Assist in the identification, assessment, and management of workplace risks.
Compliance:
· Ensure continued legislative compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental requirements.
· Act as the specialist advisor to and partner with key stakeholders in delivering effective assurance activities to projects.
· Maintain injury management case/file notes.
· Support the development, implementation, and review of compliance documents.
Health & Safety:
· Comply with all Ausdrill policies, standards, procedures and processes.
· Take reasonable care of your own safety and the health and safety of other people who may be affected by your conduct in the workplace.
· Participate in meetings, training and other health, safety and environmental activities and initiatives as requested by Ausdrill Management.
· Ensure continued legislative compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental requirements.
· Provide regular progress reports on the HSE Safety Management System to the relevant site Area Manager and relevant HSE Manager highlighting trends, areas of concern and importance.
About You:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to influence, engage and work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive issues, applying discretion when necessary.
- Two years’ experience as a practising Safety Practioner (Mandatory).
- Two years’ experience in a Compliance role (Mandatory).
Education, Qualifications & Training:
- Lead Auditor Certification (Essential)
- Cert IV WHS (Essential)
- ICAM (desirable)
