Are you an experienced underground mining leader looking for your next challenge? Barminco is seeking a highly capable Mine Foreperson to join our team at Sunrise Dam on an attractive 8:6 roster. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading underground mining operations, driving production performance, and championing a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and supervision of underground mining activities, ensuring safe, efficient and productive operations. You will work closely with site leadership, maintenance teams and our client to deliver operational targets while maintaining compliance with all relevant mining, safety and environmental legislation.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and coordinate underground mining personnel to safely achieve production and development targets.
- Plan and direct mining activities through the review of mine plans, survey data, geological information and operational requirements.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to Underground Shift Supervisors and operational crews.
- Monitor production and safety performance, reviewing reports and implementing improvements where required.
- Ensure compliance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Act, regulations and site procedures.
- Build strong working relationships with client representatives and key stakeholders to ensure expectations are aligned and objectives are achieved.
- Coordinate workforce planning, roster management, annual leave scheduling and resource allocation.
- Proactively manage safety performance, incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Conduct regular inspections of underground equipment and collaborate closely with maintenance teams to optimise equipment availability.
- Maintain accurate operational records and ensure inventory is managed effectively on a shift-by-shift basis.
- Act as Relief/Alternate Site Manager when required, supporting the continued success of site operations.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong underground mining experience, proven leadership capability and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
You will possess:
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the underground mining industry.
- Current WA Shift Supervisor's Certificate.
- Current Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
- Strong production and development mining background with hands-on operational experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate personnel, resources and work schedules effectively.
- Sound understanding of underground mining equipment and its application.
- Proven ability to optimise production outcomes while maintaining a safe working environment.
- Experience implementing and supporting training and development initiatives within mining operations.
- Knowledge of drilling and blasting practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
