Engineer Data

As a Data Engineer, you’ll work closely with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions. You’ll help shape the future of analytics by designing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities will include:
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and other Azure services.
- Write and optimise SQL queries to support reporting and analytics.
- Implement data validation and quality assurance processes.
- Document data models, processes, and configurations clearly and accessibly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Support release management and contribute to technology strategy and planning.
Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include:
- Experience in a Data Engineering or similar role.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with serverless data solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Storage) and Databricks (Spark, Python, SQL).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of Delta Live Tables and data lake architecture.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications include:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Azure or Databricks certifications.
- Experience working with mining or industrial data environments.
- Exposure to containerisation technologies and cloud cost optimisation.
