About the Role
Join the Barminco team as an Apprentice and begin your journey in the underground mining industry. We are offering exciting opportunities across Western Australia for motivated individuals looking to complete an apprenticeship as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Auto Electrician or Boilermaker.
As an apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced tradespeople while completing a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll develop practical skills maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment, all while working in a safe, team-focused environment.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Assist qualified tradespeople with maintenance and repairs on underground equipment
- Learn to inspect, service, diagnose and repair mechanical systems, carry out electrical fault-finding and repair, or carry out welding or fabrication work.
- Follow safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture
- Participate in structured training and on-the-job learning
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas
- Build practical skills across a variety of underground mining systems
Our Ideal Candidate
- Strong interest in pursuing a trade in mining or heavy industry
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
- Good work ethic and a positive attitude
- Commitment to safety and teamwork
- Ability to work in a FIFO environment
- Completed Year 12 or equivalent (preferred)
- Hold a manual class C drivers’ licence
