Are you an experienced Technology Business Analyst, with proven success in developing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, within a large organisation? We now have a newly created Business Analyst opportunity to join our friendly, fast-paced and dynamic Corporate Technology Delivery team. This role offers both autonomy and variety in the types of projects and activities that you will work on, including analysis, scoping, testing and change management.

 

Reporting into the Senior Manager Project Delivery, you will work under the direction of Project Manager/s to successfully define, and scope technology requirements are defined and continue supporting project delivery into execution phase to ensure desired outcomes are achieved. This role is key to planning and delivering successful business outcomes and we are seeking an experienced candidate with a strong customer focus and collaborative attitude to join our supportive and friendly team.  

 

Key Accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Support project managers, functional, technical leads and other project team members to successfully define, scope, build, test and commission technology projects.
  • Engage and collaborate with corporate and divisional stakeholders to elicit and define business and system requirements.
  • Evaluate requirements and assess business impact and change required to support successful embedment of a new technology or system into operational use.
  • Document and capture all requirements ensuring quality and completeness.
  • Develop working relationships with stakeholders and foster a “partnership” type relationship between Corporate Technology function and operational divisions.
  • Ensure alignment of processes with test scenarios and training content
  • Provide support for the preparation of test cases and the testing phases. 
  • Supporting project managers and business SMEs with organisational change, operations, structures, and processes.
  • Support go-live implementation of new systems and technology into operational use. Additionally sharing lessons learnt.
  • Create and develop standard business analysis and project artefacts, adhering to the Project Management Lifecycle Framework.
  • Identify, document, and manage project risks and issues to ensure effective resolution.

 

Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technology environment, with proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Mining industry experience will be highly regarded, though not essential.
  • Thorough understanding of, or industry qualification in Project Management Methodology (PRINCE2/PMBOK/Agile).
  • Able and willing to work on different types of projects which will include testing, change management, and project management work.
  • Strong understanding of HR, finance, and ERP systems.
  • Proven experience and understanding of different technology platforms and how they can enhance business function and processes.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs back to technical teams.
  • Proficiency in business process modelling and documentation.
  • Highly honed problem solving and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise workload with conflicting tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify, reconcile, elicit, and distinguish business requirements to recommend business solutions.
  • Experience with project management methodologies will be highly regarded.
