About the Role
BTP is seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Welder to join our Equipment Workshop, delivering high-quality fabrication, rebuilds and repairs across heavy earthmoving equipment.
This is a hands-on role suited to a tradesperson who takes pride in workmanship, understands the demands of mining equipment, and values working in a safety-focused, team-driven environment. You will be involved in structural repairs, component rebuilds and fabrication of earthmoving equipment and customer upgrades, ensuring all work is completed to OEM or equivalent standards.
You will work as part of a skilled workshop team with strong leadership, clear systems and a business that genuinely values safety, accountability and doing the job right the first time. There are also opportunities to mentor apprentices and contribute to continuous improvement within the workshop.
This role offers variety, stability and the opportunity to work on well-maintained equipment in a professional workshop setting.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant Boilermaker / Welding trade certificate
- Strong fabrication and repair experience on heavy earthmoving equipment
- Proficiency in FCAW welding (all positions) and air arc gouging
- Experience working on Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment (highly regarded)
- Solid understanding of workplace safety and risk management practices
- Ability to read drawings, follow procedures and work to OEM standards
- LF licence (required) and DG licence or greater
- HR, EWP and Working at Heights tickets preferred but not essential
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Willingness to mentor and support apprentices
- Capacity to complete a weld test prior to commencement
- Ability to meet pre-employment medical, functional and drug and alcohol requirements
