About our Role
Join the Barminco team as an Alternate Project Manager and support our underground mining operations across Australia, with current opportunities available at sites throughout Western Australia. As an Alternate Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager in overseeing the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery our underground mining options at our Agnew operations. Acting as the 2IC for the project, this role ensures continuity of leadership, drives operational performance and maintains strong client and stakeholder relationships.
What will your day to day look like?
- Support the Project Manager in managing day-to-day underground operations
- Ensure compliance with safety, statutory and contractual obligations
- Monitor project performance against budget, schedule and production targets
- Assist with cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Build and maintain strong client and site stakeholder relationships
- Lead and develop operational leadership teams and manage your workforce planning activities
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Act in the Project Manager’s capacity during periods of leave or absence
Our ideal candidate background includes
- Previous experience in a senior engineering and/or Project Management level role ideally within an underground mining environment
- Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety standards.
- Background in contract management and financial controls/monitoring
- Ability to effectively lead and coach teams to deliver best for project outcomes
