Are you an experienced Sustainability professional looking for your next opportunity within a progressive and diverse business? We currently have a full-time, permanent opportunity for an Advisor, Sustainability to join our collaborative and supportive team. This role will enable you to influence and drive impact across Perenti’s sustainability initiatives, particularly through a passion for improving data quality and systems, supporting our ability to better understand our climate risks, opportunities and greenhouse gas inventory and using these insights to enhance operational efficiency and performance.

This role will enable you to support the continual improvement in sustainability performance of Perenti. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sustainability, you will work with the wider Corporate Sustainability team, to assist in the development and maintenance of sustainability-related processes and initiatives, including data collection, reporting and analysis.

 

Key Accountabilities will include:

Greenhouse gas data management and reporting:

  • Develop and maintain a reliable greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory (Scope 1, 2 and 3) that meets the GHG Protocol and the AASB S2: Climate-related Disclosures reporting requirements.
  • Validate and analyse Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions data and trends across the Perenti Group.
  • Identify and assist in resolving data quality issues including gaps, anomalies, or inconsistencies.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Perenti Group to enhance data flows and reporting accuracy to meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Document data sources, methodologies and assumptions to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to reporting and planning efforts relating to emissions reduction targets.
  • Contribute to the development of the deliverables to meet the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) S2 annual reporting requirements.

Continuous improvement in sustainability performance:

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to deliver key sustainability and environmental commitments
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Sustainability Report and Modern Slavery Statement.
  • Develop and document sustainability data collection processes and assist in providing guidance and training to relevant personnel across the business.
  • Support enhanced disclosure practices and preparation of ESG rating agencies questionnaires.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in environmental and sustainability management across the Group.

 

Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include: 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Environment, Sustainability or Data Science related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in data analysis tools including Excel and Power BI.
  • Proficient in data presentation using PowerPoint and other tools.
  • Strong integrity and accountability in ensuring data accuracy and reliability

 

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written communication skills with ability to engage a variety of stakeholders.
  • Desirable – Experience in preparing:
      • Climate risk and opportunity registers
      • Climate scenario analysis
      • Climate financial impact assessments
