AUMS Rise Miner Africa
AUMS has been operating since 2007 and provides a full complement of underground mining services specifically to the African mining industry. Supported by a safe and performance orientated culture, AUMS believe investing in our people and backing them with state-of-the-art equipment and world's best practice is critical to the success of our numerous operations across Africa.
We are actively seeking to recruit an experienced Rise Miner to join us in our West African Operations on 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off roster.
As a Rise Miner, you will be responsible for carrying out conventional hand-held rising and occasional development in a safe and efficient manner. You will be required to perform additional mining tasks as directed by the Underground Shift Supervisor.
Successful candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Must have Rising operations experience.
- Strong contract mining experience.
- Use a rock-drill machine and air-leg to drill development rises and associated tasks that are required according to design.
- Scaling and installing ground control according to site and area requirements.
- Charge and fire holes that have been drilled and appropriately deal with misfires.
- Basic Timberman work and Ladderway installation.
- Responsible for handling and transporting explosives to working area.
- Good understanding of mining plans and ground conditions and the efficient operation of an Airleg machine.

A full pre-employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol, and site-specific clearances. A National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications are required to be presented at time of interview. Please be aware that an Array of Vaccinations are required when working in Africa.
