We are actively seeking Experienced ITH/Rhino Driller to join us in our African Operations. The roster on offer is 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Make sure that the relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations are followed.
  • Accurately drilling a series of ITH to a design pattern using a mechanised drill.
  • Reads and accurately follows mine instruction plans with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient, and profile.
  • Communicate with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patters and metres.
  • Set up and troubleshoot on ITH - DU411 Drill rig.
  • Accesses face conditions at the start of the job and scale from height according to site requirements.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

  • A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times.
  • Experience in training a national workforce.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the Underground Mining Industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience solely as an Underground ITH Trainer using the DU411 Drill rig.
  • Knowledge of Underground Mining Practices and the efficient operation of an Underground Longhole Machine.
  • Highly organised and able to work efficiently with limited supervision.

A full pre-employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol, and site-specific clearances. A National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications are required to be presented at time of interview.
