DDH1 Drilling is a leading exploration drilling company delivering excellence in mining operations. We are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team across various field sites in Australia.
About the Role
As a Truck Mechanic at DDH1, you will maintain and repair trucks, trailers, and ancillary equipment to keep our operations running safely and efficiently. You will work closely with drill supervisors, field teams, and maintenance personnel to diagnose faults, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and respond to breakdowns in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trucks, trailers, and support equipment
- Conduct major repairs, servicing, and component change-outs
- Maintain field service trucks with necessary tools and parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Carry out computer diagnostics and ensure timely maintenance completion
- Provide technical guidance and field service support to operations staff
- Collaborate with maintenance suppliers for equipment reliability and support
- Conduct risk assessments and follow OH&S procedures
- Flexibility to travel and work across different sites as required
Requirements
- Australian-recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Diesel Truck Mechanic)
- Current Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence or higher
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with diesel trucks; MAN, MERC, HINO experience desirable
- Strong skills in truck/trailer diagnostics, diesel engines, low voltage electrical systems, and CAN BUS systems
- Experience working in mining or FIFO environments
- Ability to work safely in extreme weather conditions
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- LF HRWL, Fire Suppression Ticket, Welding Certification
- Toyota light vehicle experience
- Strong planning, reporting, and mentoring skills
