The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their team while providing supervision to maintenance personnel, ensuring planned maintenance and servicing of mine mobile equipment is carried out efficiently and safely, while being cost-effective, using sound judgement to maximize production capability.

 

  • Working a rotation of 14-shifts on and 14-days off
  • Open to Canadian Residents
  • This position is a drive-in/drive-out or fly-in/fly-out role if you reside outside the Marathon/Manitouwadge Ontario area.

 

More specifically, our Maintenance Foreperson will:
•    Ensure department compliance with all Barminco and our client’s policies, procedures, work instructions and statutory requirements.
•    Mentor, guide and motivate team to improve performance and develop skills.
•    Ensure the required manpower and equipment/tools are in place to achieve planned production, while being mindful of planned costs.
•    Developing workshop standards, implement maintenance strategies to reduce risks and variations.
•    Oversee maintenance schedules and repairs for all mining equipment.
•    Other duties and accountabilities as required.

 

Skills and Experience:
•    Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of your team.
•    Technical diploma, degree or similar qualification in Maintenance/Mechanics field.
•    Valid Mechanical/Trades Licenses. 
•    Minimum 10 years of mine maintenance experience (underground and surface equipment).
•    Minimum 5 years in a maintenance supervisory role with experience mentoring and developing teams. 
•    Experience in conventional and mechanized mining.
•    Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and or Pronto.
•    Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams). 
•    Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
•    Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
